Agaba Advocates and Legal Consultants is an emerging client-oriented, professional and dynamic legal practice, supporting clients to achieve their goals by combining the highest global standards with local expertise. Our major areas of practice include commercial legal practice, corporate governance, human rights, legal aspects of regional integration and development financing and related matters as well as legal structuring to improve the cost of doing business. Within these designated areas, the services offered to the firm’s diverse client base are broad, spanning a wide spectrum of focus areas including Commercial law, Access to Justice, Anti-Corruption, corporate governance, gender and human rights, democratic governance and EAC regional integration. We have highly developed expertise in project management and in the full project cycle including project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

The firm’s small structure allows it to give a personal touch from its core team of partners who selectively chose their clients to concentrate on core areas of expertise and deliver the best quality results. Our firm puts emphasis on high ethical standards and utmost Advocate-Client confidentiality. We continue to impress clients with the ability to handle transactions diligently and satisfactorily. The firm is located in the heart of Kampala on the 3rd floor of Airways House, Colville Street. The firm is made up of two partners, Victor Agaba and Tom Mbalinda, is under their combined management and guidance and is steadily growing into a well-knit, respected and stable practice.

The partners have throughout their span as legal practitioners  had the privilege and experience of working on sophisticated transactions and consultancies with reputable companies and thriving multinational corporations including Standard Chartered Bank, MTN Uganda Limited, Uganda Re Ltd (a reinsurance company), Venture Communications Ltd, RPC Data, Uganda Breweries Ltd (UBL), law firms and international development organizations such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Department for International Development (DFID), Danish International Development Assistance (DANIDA), the World Bank, and the East African Development Bank (EADB), multiple projects under the privatization unit involving Privatization Unit, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Uganda; National Insurance Corporation, Uganda Development Bank, DFD Department of the Bank of Uganda, Pride Micro finance Ltd, Uganda Railways Corporation, amongst others. We have also handled work for reputable trusts and charitable institutions such as the MTN Foundation, The Madhvani Foundation. Accordingly we continue to develop extensive expertise in matters relating to multinational corporations, banking and international finance and litigation.
